Retailers are experts in organic revolutions. From brick and mortar to the pure player via m- or s-commerce, retailers are endlessly versatile. Today, retail is SMART. It is learning from and making use of artificial intelligence to constantly improve the customer experience. It harmonises (at last!) the on- and off-line and heralds the arrival of Phygital.

11h30 - Plenary# 2 - Smart Instore

What will tomorrow's store look like? It will be given a very positive makeover and find a new lease of life by returning to what is essential: the senses. Naturally, equipment is the cornerstone of this development: store layout is dead - long live store staging! To go further, our sensations are being enriched by digital technology, an association giving rise to an experience of total and useful shopping, taking into account needs (thanks to data) and providing real added value, especially in terms of service. By entering the digital world, stores are bringing the human aspect back to shopping: CRM leads to customised offers, sales staff with tablets can help out customers and click & collect is reconciling the on- and off-line.

Speaker's profiles: Head of Layout & Digitization of the Point of Sale

16h00 - Plenary #3 - Smart Customer Experience

Even though experiments have always been a part of retailing, for the past few years we have seen an acceleration in innovation, in line with the growing understanding of its vital importance.

The headlong race to engage consumers has made retailers keen to have customer data in order to get a better idea of the purchasing experience and enrich it with new innovations. How are these innovations applied in retailing? How can data be collected and used to improve the CX? Will artificial intelligence with cognitive computing, the internet of things, the in-house store and the Blockchain be able to save us?
